Subject: Introduction to IB Diploma and History at HL and SL

Having graduated in Modern History from Oxford University (BA Hons, MA), David has taught IBDP History at HL and SL for many years with consistently excellent results. At the same time, as Deputy Head Academic at a leading international school, he has introduced the IB Diploma to Year 11 (Grade 10) students and their parents for more than a decade, as well as helping in their preparation for applying to top universities.

Subject: Geography

Isabelle Shortt

Subject: French and History

A teacher of History, Geography and French as a Foreign Language for over 15 years. She has learned and taught several curricula: French, American, IGCSE, New South Wales and International Baccalaureate (MYP and DP). She is currently working in a school with a dual program- OSSD and IB (MYP and DP). She has worked in 3 continents (Europe, Asia and Africa) and several international schools. She is an MYP workshop leader and an external examiner for the Diploma Programme (History).

James O'Connor

Subject: History

Taught History for the IB, IGCSE, GCSE and Junior Certificate courses in England, Spain, Mexico and Ireland. He has corrected Extended Essays and taught Theory of Knowledge (which includes presentation and essay writing for the IB as well). He also speaks fluent Spanish and have 8 years experience teaching EFL.

Completed a B.A. in English, an M.A. in creative writing, and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood education. Currently teaching Composition II at Veritas Press Scholars Academy (VPSA and an independent Advocate Distributor, and I enjoy a freelance writing career. Her goal is to effectively create classes that will maximize time spent in the classroom, so an interview will be held in order to best determine a student's proficiency and personal/professional goals for applying knowledge of academic concepts.

Charles Cejka

Location: Germany

Subject: Biology

Currently an MYP Science and IBDP Biology teacher at an international school in Germany. Most of the students that he currently teaches are enrolled in Higher Level Biology, but he has taught Standard Level students as well. As the Head of Science at the school, he has an extensive working knowledge of the curriculum and have taught units in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the MYP level. In addition, he serves as an IB examiner for Higher Level Paper 3 and have graded exams from around the world. He supervised several Personal Project and Extended Essay (Biology) students. He would gladly help any student that requires guidance in MYP Science/Mathematics, IBDP/AP Biology, the Personal Project, or the Extended Essay in Biology.

Mak Koon Wing Kenneth

Subject: Chemistry

With PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) qualified English teacher (Exempt from LPAT) with a Master of Education (MEd), a Master of Art in Language Studies with Credit (MA) and a Master of Science in Environmental Science (MSc). He achieved a First Class Honour in my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. His more than 25 years of teaching experience in education include instructing undergraduate students in tertiary institutions, teaching English in EMI primary schools and secondary schools, and teaching Chemistry, Science and Mathematics at local EMI secondary schools and American International School (High School) in Hong Kong. He also worked as a science editor in three publishing houses, writing question banks for Chemistry and Integrated Sciences. Furthermore, he worked as a technician in three different laboratories, testing toys, dioxin and drugs.
